Use Iqra Quest alongside your child’s lessons. Listen together, practise a page, and let their teacher guide the next step.
Choose a starting book
Iqra, also written Iqro, is a step-by-step approach to learning to read Arabic. Iqra Quest covers Books 1–3, with 30 pages in each book. It is a practice companion, not a complete Arabic language course.
- Book 1: letter sounds with fathah.
- Book 2: joined letters and long ‘aa’ sounds.
- Book 3: kasrah, dammah, and short and long vowel patterns.
If you are unsure where to begin, ask your child’s teacher to listen to a few pages. It is fine to revisit a familiar page.
Follow a simple routine
- Open the page and listen to its sounds.
- Let your child read and try a short practice activity.
- Listen as they read the page aloud. Give them time to look at the letters and vowels.
- Mark the page ready when you are satisfied with their reading. They will receive a farm gift.
Keep practice comfortable and stop before your child becomes tired. A teacher can help with pronunciation and deciding when to move on. The app does not automatically assess pronunciation.
About the audio
The learning app uses an Arabic voice available on your device, with bundled audio files as a fallback. The book-page samples use those files. Voices can sound different across devices; audio supports practice and does not replace a qualified teacher. The recording activity lets your child hear themselves. Recordings stay on the device and are not scored.
Keep your progress
Progress is saved in this browser, on this website address. It does not automatically follow you to another device or browser. Clearing browser data can remove it.
Use Move or back up progress to save a file and import it on another device or from the old Railway address. Keep the file somewhere private: it includes the learner’s name and progress.
If no backup is available, the profile’s Restore progress option lets a parent choose the last completed page. It marks earlier pages complete and checked, so use it only for work your child has already finished.
Use it in a lesson
Share a book page with a family, or open a particular page in the learning app. Check the page image with the book you use; editions and page numbering can differ. Iqra Quest currently supports one learner profile per browser.
